How to Update the SiteOwl Web App

You may have noticed that when you return to a website you’ve visited before, it loads faster than it did when you visited the first time. This is because your browser stores a copy of the website on your computer, making it faster to load the website locally as opposed to downloading the website from the internet each time.

Why would I need to perform a hard refresh and clear browser cache?
Although storing pages to the browser's cache makes loading pages faster, it can mean that changes made to the website aren't always visible until you perform a hard refresh. Performing a hard refresh to clear the cached version of the website will download the new content. Performing this action in Chrome (SiteOwl's supported browser) is easy and the commands vary depending on the operating system you are using.

Step 1: Open the Developer Console
There are multiple ways to do this:
  1. Control+Shift+I (Windows or Linux)
  2. Option+Command+I (Mac)
  3. Function 12 (F12)
  4. Right-click anywhere on the page and choose Inspect

Step 2: Click the Refresh Icon to reload the page

Step 3: Right-click the Refresh Icon and choose Empty Cache and Hard Reload from the dropdown

Step 4: Close the browser tab. Open a new tab and navigate to SiteOwl (https://live.site-owl.com)
