Organizing Your Favorites Effectively

• Account-Based Setup: Favorites are set up by account and can easily be transferred between accounts.

• Storage Strategy: Choose from a few storage methods:

  • Use a dedicated Favorites customer account for importing to different accounts.

  • Store device information using a CSV template for each customer for easier imports and updates.

Naming Conventions Matter

Create clear and descriptive names for devices:

• Example: 4MP Dome Camera, 2 Door Controller, 8 Port Network Switch.

Grouping Devices into Packages

• Group devices into packages to make deployment faster and more efficient.

• Example: A Camera Package might include:

  • Primary device: Camera

  • Secondary devices: Mounts, cables, and accessories

• Keep packages flexible by creating smaller groups (e.g., cameras without cables) for better customization.

Updating and Managing Favorites

• Essential fields to update regularly: Part Number, Manufacturer, Budgeted Cost, Budgeted Hours, and Description.

• Use the bulk import/export feature for efficient updates.

• Set an update schedule—at least twice a year—to keep information current and replace any end-of-life equipment.
