Organizing Your Favorites Effectively
Account-Based Setup: Favorites are set up by account and can easily be transferred between accounts.
Storage Strategy: Choose from a few storage methods:
Use a dedicated Favorites customer account for importing to different accounts.
Store device information using a CSV template for each customer for easier imports and updates.
Naming Conventions Matter
Create clear and descriptive names for devices:
Example: 4MP Dome Camera, 2 Door Controller, 8 Port Network Switch.
Grouping Devices into Packages
Group devices into packages to make deployment faster and more efficient.
Example: A Camera Package might include:
Primary device: Camera
Secondary devices: Mounts, cables, and accessories
Keep packages flexible by creating smaller groups (e.g., cameras without cables) for better customization.
Updating and Managing Favorites
Essential fields to update regularly: Part Number, Manufacturer, Budgeted Cost, Budgeted Hours, and Description.
Use the bulk import/export feature for efficient updates.
Set an update schedule—at least twice a year—to keep information current and replace any end-of-life equipment.
